Our Mission:
To preach the Gospel, make disciples and plant new churches among the unreached people of Myanmar.

Missions Training School

Agape Orphanage Children's Home

The Missions Training School was established in 2003. Since then it has produced 227 graduates. The students are from different ethnicities from 18 language backgrounds and regional backgrounds of Myanmar. After completing their study in MTS they return to their own tribal groups as church planters. The MTS motto is Isaiah. 6:8 Here am I! Send me. Those who came for training were from unreached people groups. The students then returned to their native places to share the gospel. They started new churches and over 50 new churches have now been planted in Myanmar. We closed our Mission Training School in 2010 due to the financial crisis but thanks to God’s provision we started the school again from February to April 2022 with 40 students. Our prayer is to be able to continue to train more students in a new campus at Pone Htun Village near Lashio city, Northern Shan State, so we can reach more tribes such as the Shan, Palaung, Lisu and Lahu tribal groups.

Missions for Myanmar Organization was established in 2000 in Mandalay, Myanmar to spread the Gospel to all people groups in Myanmar. Today, by the grace of God, we have 21 missionaries who are sharing God’s word in different parts of the country. Many new churches have now been established among the unreached in Myanmar. The Lord has faithfully blessed our discipleship and church planting ministry. We continue to go forward in faith to share the gospel with the unreached people of Myanmar. As part of our mission, our organization currently runs the Missions Training School as well as the Agape Orphanage Childrens’s Home.

The Lord established the Agape Orphanage Children’s Home in 2003. Our orphanage is located in Pyin Oo Lwin town, east of Mandalay City, Myanmar. The campus comprises the chapel, the boys and girls children's house, study hall and our family house. When Richard Khum saw so many orphans living on the streets without food and education, God filled his heart with pity and love, and called Richard to start this ministry. Many of the children have lost their parents to sickness, drugs and war. Almost all the children come from a Buddhist background and a history of idol worship.

Today there are 50 orphans in this children's home, from different ethnic backgrounds. They attend the local public school, and all the teachers in the school remark that the children from the Agape Orphanage are smart, obedient and disciplined students. They learn about Jesus at our children’s home. Every day they sing songs, memorize scripture, pray together and read the Bible. They have tasted God’s goodness in their daily lives and feel joy in their hearts.

Our great vision for them is that they may accomplish their education and serve the Lord. Then they may shine like stars among their people with the light of Jesus Christ. We have sent out five missionaries to unreached people now. We firmly believe that they will become very effective missionaries among their unreached people.

From our founder

Pastor Richard’s Testimony

I believe God has called me for a specific ministry: to reach the unreached people of Myanmar.

I came to know the Lord in 1988 and felt God’s calling me to be a missionary. As I continued to preach the Gospel, I began to see lives changed for Christ. The sick were healed and demons were cast out. Many people who were formerly Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim and living in darkness were brought to Christ. They decided to follow Jesus Christ and receive Him as their personal savior. It is so amazing to see many people's lives changing through Christ from bad habits, drug addiction and many evil things in their former lives to their families and the communities. Many continue to make more disciples for Christ.

My vision and passion is to be able to reach as many unbelievers as possible with the Gospel of Christ. I strongly believe that, one day, God will transform our country, Myanmar, from a predominantly Buddhist country, to one that is filled with many believers.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
